The Village Board of Aldermen has formed a LEADERSHIP SALADO program designed to increase interest and education regarding local, county, and state government; community organizations; businesses; local issues; finances; public safety; economic development; plans, and goals. It is anticipated that further knowledgeable involvement in government and community affairs will result from this program..

Leadership Salado held its kick-off orientation day for the Charter Class of 2009-2010 on Saturday, August 22. There was a full day of information, team building, socializing and eating! This year's participants divided into three teams of five, and include Kim Bird, David Carr, Terry Crain, Hans Fields, Sue Hahn, Joni Lange, Will Lowrey, Karen Marinik, Danney McCort, Sheryl Russell, Bill Shepperd, Karen Stalcup, Darlene Sullivan, Susan Terry, and Billy Wiggins.
