Salado, a Texas Frontier College Town

Salado, Texas, located in Bell County between the cities of Waco and Austin, was an original stop for the stage lines and was home for the first coeducational college in the state of Texas.

The Village of Salado was founded at the Old Military Road crossing of Salado Creek on October 8, 1859 coincident with the founding of Salado College.  Founded by the early Scottish settlers because of its plentiful springs and rich farmland, Salado became a center for commerce and culture.

Early Voting will begin Monday, April 24, 2017
at the Civic Center, 601 N. Main (see details under "Elections")

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning & Zoning
Commission is at 4 p.m.on Tuesday, April 25, 2017.

There will be a "Meet & Greet" 4-5:30 p.m. on Monday,
May 1, 2017 at the Civic Center to honor David Miller,
Rick Ashe, Police Chief and Don Ferguson, Village Administrator.

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Aldermen
is scheduled for Thursday, May 4, 2017.
