Overview of Mayor Michael Coggin

Mayor Michael Coggin is a 1979 graduate of Texas A&M and a 2002 Army Management Staff College graduate. After serving 33 years as a civilian engineer for the US Army, he is retired.

Mayor Coggin ran for the Board of Aldermen because the Village of Salado was undergoing rapid growth and would primarily benefit from someone on the board with engineering expertise. After his friends encouraged him to run for the Board of Aldermen to help the Village by utilizing his experience in engineering, Mayor Michael Coggin did just that. After serving as an Alderman, he ran for Mayor and has since won his second term. His goals as Mayor of Salado are to (1) revise the Sanctuary Development Agreement to protect the Village taxpayers, (2) control growth, and (3) create a strong historic Main Street.

He and his wife, Diana, travel and play golf during their free time.
